Since the initial casting call was released nationwide last month, the attached cast list has begun to show extreme promise.
The show, created and written by filmmaker Mike Roberts, is based around a father and son team with mafia ties that are trying to take over a small town outside of Dallas, Texas. Five years prior, the son left to start his own business and turned his back on the family causing a hardship between him and his father.
The show, decribed as "Arrested Development"
Terry Kiser has been cast as the father who is in charge of the family business. Kiser, best known for his role of Bernie Lomax in the '80s classic Weekend at Bernie's, has a resume that seems to be a mile long and includes credits of Night Court, The Golden Girls, Friday the 13th Part 7, Walker Texas Ranger, and The Fall Guy.
Opposite Kiser is Shaun O'Rourke, who will be taking on the role of Kiser's son. Other notable additions to the cast are Scott Parks, who is best known for the head vampire Silas from the CW's hit show The Vampire Diaries, and newcomer Heather Danner, who is also a student of Kiser's at The Actor's Arena in Austin, Texas.
Director and Writer Mike Roberts said he is extremely impressed with the amount of talent that has shown support and interest in the project. Roberts sounds very optimistic about his new project stating that this is his first project being shot in Texas. A North Carolina native, where film seems to be part of a steady workflow, Roberts is hoping to contribute to the growing film industry in Texas.
