By: Soul Children of Chicago, The Proper Image The Norwegian Chapter of the Soul Children is dedicated to the same positive mission that Mr. Whitman started over three decades ago in Chicago. Ragnhild Hiis Aanestad is the musical leader and the originator of Oslo Soul Children. She is the promoter of the Soul Children Festival and founder of the Soul Children Concept in Norway, which has grown to encompass 100 local choirs. With a movement of 23 choirs in Germany beginning… Mr. Whitman traveled to Norway to perform with the combined choirs, totalling 1600 European youth members. The visual of these students gathering is resounding proof that the Soul Children movement is growing internationally. The vision already coming to fruition is that the Soul Children concept will inspire and give birth to new ideas when it comes to ministry involving kids and youths, and to have them establish Soul Children choirs all around Europe and beyond. With plans in the works to establish Soul Children chapters in Los Angeles and other U.S. Cities – Walt Whitman is dedicated to expanding the program that nurtures, educates and mentors the youth of today into becoming children of destiny, defined by purpose, with high standards of excellence, character, leadership, integrity and social balance on a national and international level. For Chicago locals, SCC will be throwing a big 32nd anniversary celebration concert, "Break the Chains," on Oct. 26 at the Holy Temple Cathedral in Harvey, Illinois. Mr. Whitman is currently available for interviews with media and to discuss future plans with interested parties/sponsors.
