BURBANK, Calif. - Oct. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Bernard (aka Young), author of "A Harem Boy's Saga," had a privileged and unique upbringing in Malaysia. Following in his brothers' footsteps, he was sent to an exclusive boarding school in England. It is there that he was inducted into a clandestine organization, E.R.O.S. The Enlightened Royal Oracle Society. For four years, unbeknown to his family, he was willingly and happily part of a Harem.

This provocative story is about a fourteen year old boy who was initiated into a secret sensual society. He was spirited to the Middle East, from his UK boarding school. He attended the Bahriji School (Oasis) in The United Arab Emirates in preparation for serving in Harems for the wealthy and elite. It is also a love story between the young man and his ‘Valet’ who served as his chaperone and mentor during the boy’s Harem service.

Bernard Foong is, first and foremost, a sensitivist. He finds nuance in everything. To experience the world he inhabits is an adventure which is mystical, childlike, and refreshing. He has a rare ability to create beauty in a unique fashion. His palettes have been material, paint, words, and human experiences. He is a full-time writer who completed the second book in the saga, Unbridled, which was recently released. He is completing the third book in the saga currently.

A Harem Boy's Saga is a series of five books documenting the designer's unique life Bernard Tristan Foong, alias Young, is an accomplished fashion designer. After graduating from The Royal College of Art, London, England, he worked as an in-house bridal wear designer for Liberty's of London for four years. The Hong Kong Polytechnic/University offered Mr. Foong a fashion design professorship for the next six years. He was a founding member of The Hong Kong Fashion Designer's Association; Consultant to numerous fashion companies in Hong Kong, ranging from lingerie, furs, women’s-wear designs, to his specialty: romantic and ethereal bridal ensembles. During his lecturing sojourn to the United States of America he was recruited by The University of Wisconsin-Madison as an associate fashion professor. He was also a visiting lecturer at The Minneapolis College of Art, Minnesota.  In 1994 to 1996, The Singapore Temasek Polytechnic recruited Mr. Foong to organize the school's fashion design and merchandising department. He was also the acting fashion development manager for Parkson Grand department stores in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The designer was offered a scholarship to complete his Master in Theater Costuming at The University of Hawaii in 1996. Since then he has made Hawaii his home with his life partner.
