SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - Oct. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and South Carolina International Pageants is saying "NO MORE."

NO MORE is a new unifying symbol designed to galvanize greater awareness and action to end domestic violence and sexual assault. Supported by major organizations working to address these urgent issues, NO MORE is gaining support with Americans nationwide, sparking new conversations about these problems and moving this cause higher on the public agenda.

For every new 'like' South Carolina International Pageants receives on Facebook or new 'follow' on Twitter through October 31, 2014, the organization will donate $1 to the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV).

"As a victim of domestic abuse myself, I am determined to bringing the horrific nature of domestic violence to light," promises Tiffany Carnahan, Executive Director of South Carolina International pageants. "My hope is that my personal experiences can help other women find a way out of a very dark place in their lives, and our organization and I stand firmly committed to this cause."

According to the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA), South Carolina ranks #1 in the nation for women killed by men. End the silence to end the violence.

If you or someone you know is being abused, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline toll-free at 1.800.799.SAFE (7233).

Today, NNEDV provides training and assistance to the statewide and territorial coalitions against domestic violence. It also furthers public awareness of domestic violence and changes beliefs that condone intimate partner violence. NNEDV works to make domestic violence a national priority, change the way communities respond to domestic violence, and strengthen efforts against intimate partner violence at every level of government.
