Oct. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- In October 2013, Long Sutton Golf Club presented St. Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil with £24,000, raised thanks to its successful St. Margaret’s Charity Golf Day.  Over 60 teams played in this popular annual event which has now been running for over 20 years.

This year saw the competition’s first hole in one, where the winner Peter Tierney, took home the fantastic prize of a brand new motorbike from sponsor Total Triumph, based in Taunton.  Tommy Tulk, Chairman of the Long Sutton Golf Club said, “It was really exciting to have our first hole in one this year, and we would like to thank all our sponsors who have helped make this event so special each year.  We usually aim to have between 55-65 teams and we see them coming from all over the country to compete. We look forward to 2014’s event and please feel free to get in touch if you would like to know how to enter.”

Ann Lee, Clinical Director said “I would like to thank the Long Sutton Golf Club for this incredible donation of £24,000 to St. Margaret’s Hospice.  We are reliant on fundraising support from the local community to keep our hospice services going.  This donation will enable us to appointa Rehabilitation Support Nurse who will help patients gain increased confidence to live as independently as possible; concentrating on building stamina to overcome complex mobility problems as well as learning to manage the anxieties of living with a life-limiting illness.  It has been amazing to see this golfing event go from strength to strength and we are very grateful for Long Sutton Golf Club’s continued commitment and support to make this appointment possible.’
