Sip Shop & Socialize in Honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Oct. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Connections to Success, a 501(c)(3) organization is hosting a screening party and intimate discussion of a documentary entitled “In Her Shoes” in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  The documentary highlights the life of a Dress for Success participant.  Connections to Success break the cycle of poverty in the lives of women and men through hope, resources and a plan.  Dress to Success Midwest is a program of Connections to Success.

The “In Her Shoes” Film Premiere is an acknowledgment of the commitment of Dress for Success Midwest, one of Missouri’s finest nonprofit organizations that assists women coming from challenging situations. Produced and directed by Brandy Rainey Amsel, “In Her Shoes” features Betty Staehr, a former client of Dress for Success Austin. Betty went from having an ideal life to sitting on the curb of the Salvation Army, to then rebuilding her life and giving back to the community that supported her in a time of need. “In Her Shoes” is an inspirational story of triumph, compassion, and making a difference in the world. Selected from over 200 entries, “In Her Shoes” was also featured at the 2012 Austin Film Festival, Lights. Camera. Help.
