18.5" IP65 Waterproof Panel Computer wtih M12 Connectors

CINCINNATI - Oct. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Advantech’s Industrial Automation Group is pleased to announce the release of the SPC-1840WP, an 18.5” waterproof widescreen multi-touch stationary panel PC specifically designed to provide easier operation and boost productivity in areas that require frequent power washing.

This iF award winning device has been honored not only for its appearance but also, its commitment to being extremely intuitive to use. With pale blue soft-keys that, when lightly touched, give users quick and easy access to information allowing for convenient viewing.

The SPC-1840WP offers slender and elegant aluminum housing and emphasizes modernity with an all-around IP65 protection.  Using M12 connectors and the ability to connect to a VESA arm allows the device to withstand high water pressure or very humid environments.  In areas such as food and beverage and chemical manufacturing where frequent cleaning is a necessity, the SPC-1840WP is ideal.

The SPC-1840WP features a widescreen ratio of 16:9, providing 40% more screen area than 4:3 displays. Furthermore, with the addition of multi-touch capabilities, the TPC-2140WP provides even greater control and viewing of information shown using Advantech’s SUSIAccess and WebAccess management software.  These features were made possible by utilizing the projected capacitive touch screen, which deliver gesture-based capabilities such as pan, zoom, and rotate which are popular today.  Machine operation safety is also enhanced from the two hands operation and reduces the chance of being mis-touched.  Several 3^rd party partner HMI/SCADA software packages have been tested on this panel with excellent results.

All of this is made possible with the inclusion of an AMD 1.6 GHz processor with independent graphical processing unit which provides support for Windows 8 and DirectX11 so it can handle more complicated and detailed graphics up to 1366 x 768 resolution.  Other features include: 1 x RS-232, 1 x USB 2.0, and 2 x GbE LAN.
