Silver Circle Five Year Anniversary Exhibition & Fund Raiser

PUTNAM, Conn. - Oct. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- The event will take place Saturday November 9^th from 6-9pm and will be co-sponsored by neighboring downtown business, the Stomping Ground. The exhibit will feature six artists who show their work at The Stomping Ground: Alex Brennan, Laura Lehto, Erin Elsey, Teresa Fortsch, Sarah Paquette, and Ashleigh Kay.

Tickets are available for $20 each and will include drinks, live music by Blue Honey and Seamus McMullan, and food donated by six local restaurants. The exhibit will be on display November 7 - 17, 2013.  All proceeds will go to benefit improvements to the Art Center and its classroom. NECT resident Carly Martin opened the Silver Circle Gallery in Putnam in 2008 as a local and regional art hub. With an abundant creative network, Silver Circle quickly became a dynamic place for artists to convene, connect, share, and inspire and enrich the tight-knit community. One of Carly’s main goals was to make art accessible, relatable, and valuable in the public’s eyes. “I hope to cultivate respect for artists’ work and to help sustain their careers. I see Silver Circle as an establishment that can create opportunity and make a positive impact on people’s lives”.

The gallery serves as a professional launching pad for emerging artists as well as a fresh, contemporary space for career artists to exhibit. The art center fosters community art appreciation with rotating exhibits and gallery talks, and encourages creative exploration through art classes for all ages and skill levels in friendly environment taught by gallery artists. “I am so fortunate to provide a place of inspiration and learning for the community.”

The Stomping Ground Owners Terry and Sarah Paquette also knew that there was a need for a creative venue where artists and musicians alike could visit, enjoy, and participate. Also located in the heart of downtown Putnam, The Stomping Ground has rapidly become the go-to music and art venue, serving locally sourced food and craft libations, but with a focus on live performances and contemporary art.“The Stomp” provides a vibrant social setting where everyone is welcome, respected, and encouraged to be themselves.

The Silver Circle and The Stomping Ground are excited to be uniting to celebrate and encourage the recent arts renaissance in downtown Putnam. The mutual support of these small town businesses speaks of the positive vibe and camaraderie that has helped to make Putnam ‘the place to be’.
