High Swartz Partner Joel S. Luber Speaks on Estate Planning at PBI Seminar

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Oct. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- NORRISTOWN, Pa. (October 17, 2013) – High Swartz LLP, a general practice law firm based in Norristown, Pa., announced that Partner, Joel S. Luber, recently spoke about estate planning for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI), the continuing education arm of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, formed to provide Pennsylvania lawyers with information that is timely, practical, and cost effective.  The course, Estate Planning: Beyond the Basics, was held on October 17, 2013 at PBI’s Professional Development Conference Center located at theHeinz 57 Center, 339 Sixth Ave., 7th Floor, Pittsburgh, Pa.  The seminar will be held again on October 29, 2013 at the CLE Conference Center located at the former Wanamaker Building (now Macy's), 10th Floor, Suite 1010 in Philadelphia, and will also be available at other locations via simulcast.

In this seminar, Mr. Luber and the other faculty members provided a comprehensive overview of advanced estate planning concepts, examining the needs of non-traditional couples and discussing the ever growing importance of asset protection planning. Other topics included recent legislation, document drafting, use of trusts, portability, and wealth transfer strategies.

Mr. Luber concentrates his practice on sophisticated estate planning for high net worth clients, estate administration, Orphans’ Court practice, and general corporate and income tax planning.  He also counsels clients in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and partnership agreements, nonqualified deferred and equity based compensation agreements, and commercial real estate transactions, including financing and like-kind exchanges.  Mr. Luber has lectured at various continuing education seminars and written articles primarily in the areas of estate planning, family limited partnerships, powers of attorney, and the Federal estate tax marital deduction.  He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County, Chester County, and Montgomery County Bar Associations and is a member of the Tax Section and Real Property, Probate and Trust Sections of the American Bar Association, and the Philadelphia and Montgomery County Estate Planning Councils.

Mr. Luber is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, and is admitted and has argued in the United States Tax Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  He earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law, and his B.S. in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
