Sam's Club Collaborates with Reading SCORE & SBDC to offer Workshop on Small Business Growth

READING, Pa. - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Reading, PA.The Sam’s Club of Temple, PA, announces their affiliation with two local counseling organizations, Reading SCORE and Kutztown University Small Business Development Center, in offering a free, half-day workshop entitled Grow Your Business Boot Camp, on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.  This workshop will focus on the small business owner, assisting him or her in assessing, developing, and growing their individual enterprises.  The workshop will consist of five modules, management, marketing, sales, finance, and operations, and will be held 9:00AM – 12:00PM, with registration starting at 8:30AM, at the Discovery Federal Credit Union facility in Wyomissing, PA.  The individual modules will be facilitated by a combination of professional staff of the two counseling organizations, as well as working business professionals who have relevant experience in the critical issues of the small business sector.  These business professionals include a sales consultant, an attorney, a banker, and a social media expert..

Although there is no charge for attendance, it is important for participants to register in advance.  Enrollment can be either through telephone (484-638-6647 (tel:%28484-638-6647) or on-line at www.kutztownsbdc.org.  Space is limited, so early registration is suggested.

These workshops are just one of the many services that SCORE provides to the small business sector.  SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Business, is a nonprofit, public service organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs succeed as small business owners.  It is a national affiliation with over 49 years of history, representing 13,200 volunteer counselors and 365 local chapters, and a national office in Washington, DC.  SCORE’s network of counselors consists of active and retired executives and business owners who provide a wide range of free, confidential services.  In addition to workshops, these services also include face-to-face advisory discussions, cyber counseling, site visits, and mentoring follow-up sessions.

The Small Business Development Center program provides low - or no-cost guidance and training in proven management fundamentals helping small business owners and potential owners make sound decisions for the successful operation of their business. Part of a statewide network supported by the SBA and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Kutztown SBDC serves businesses in a ten county area through individual, one-on-one, confidential counseling and group training. The Kutztown SBDC sponsors numerous workshops, conferences and courses each year at various locations in its ten-county service area. Instructors include SBDC staff, private-sector professionals, government experts, and University faculty. Programs are nominally priced to serve the small-business community.
