HOUSTON - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Studio RED Architects has completed design and construction for a free-standing addition to the campus of Ft. Bend Community Church. Commissioned by Pastor Brian Lam, Studio RED Partner Trung Doan and his team created a master plan that accommodates both the current ministry space needs and the expected future growth of the overall campus.

Working with Pastor Lam and the church's Building Committee, led by Mr. Peter Yau, Doan crafted a design that complemented the campus' existing architecture and aesthetic, while paving the pathway for continuous growth for Ft. Bend Community Church in the future. Drawing from the color palette that is found throughout the rest of the church property, the new multi-purpose building is made up of a mixture of natural materials, and features a smaller number of colored accents. Since remaining within the established budget was of the utmost importance to the church, the project used traditional tilt-wall construction to increase efficiency and minimize initial building and long-term maintenance costs.

With growth trajectory in mind, Studio RED Architects designed a beautiful building that will meet all of the church's current and foreseeable space needs. The two-story building includes classrooms for both children and adult educational and worship activities, as well as a large multi-purpose atrium. With a series of doors on either side of a central welcome desk, the atrium space welcomes the community to the building while also providing a separation between the open-air common area and the smaller multi-purpose classrooms.

After working with the church previously to develop a master plan for the church's campus, Studio RED understood the unique needs of the church. "During the design process, open communication with the client is key," said Trung Doan. "This, in conjunction with our expertise in worship campuses, allows us to really understand each church's specific requirements and create a customized design reflective of the personality of the church." Guided by his collaborative relationship throughout the design process, Doan successfully created a timeless design that will serve the church campus for many years to come.
