The Innaguaral South Florida String Festival

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- SOUTH FLORIDA (November 10^th, 2013) – It’s about that time when the sounds of some of the most talented musicians, from all genres, come together to form the Inaugural South Florida String Festival. This celebration starts during the day and continues into the night; while visitors jam out to sweet tunes, indulge in tasty food, and drink to their livers content. Headliners this year include: Uproot Hootenanny, Bungled and Botched, Everymen, The Short Straw Pickers, South Side Dub, Future Presidentz, The Goddamn' Hustle, Sosos, Los Bastardos Magnificos, KillBillies, and Shorty the Giant.

The South Florida String Festival aka “One Big Party” is a joint effort with our local music incubator, Unity 88, which is located in Oakland Park, FL. Unity 88 is an organization of local bands, artists, promoters, managers, marketing specialist, sound engineers, and entrepreneurs encouraging the spread of local music in our South Florida communities. In this collaborative endeavor, they were able to formulate an annual festival that will undoubtedly become a tradition to many.

Throughout these 12 hours of music, madness and memorable moments, there surely won’t be a dull moment. Random performances by fire spinners will be surrounding visitors throughout the night while they indulge in an assortment of different flavors. The Bamboo Tiki bar, which has appeared in several national television shows, will be bringing their world famous catering to event-goers plates and cups with “Lil Bamboo”.  A menu including Salvadoran and Mexican cuisine, by the well-known restaurant El Guanaco, will also be catering and available to order any time during the festivities. Swissa Productions will capture everyone’s attention with their visual and audio entertainment, while a Caribbean style pig roast will be filling the air with savory aromas, and a nighttime bonfire will set the mood for all.

The South Florida String Festival, with facilitation by Unity 88, is designed around a local music movement within the vein of bluegrass, alternative rock, and reggae. New sub genres like “Newgrass Americana” are quietly sweeping the south from the grass roots upward. This day of festivities is a happening without the tainted influence of mainstream music labels or media conglomerates, making it a uniquely organic moment for South Florida’s musical identity.
