NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Chef and Eclectic Luncheonette owner Robert Milano invited friends, family and foodies from across Fairfield County to celebrate the opening of his new luncheonette and catering service in New Canaan, Connecticut on Tuesday.

Attendees gathered for an opening reception on Vitti Street where they enjoyed cocktails and samples from his widespread lunch, dinner and catering menus. Sample sized pulled pork soufflés and beef ossobuco honey truffle melts were passed alongside tiny basil chicken sandwiches, cups of tomato bisque soup topped with housemade garlic naan and small chocolate dipped butter crunch biscotti.

Guests included New Canaan Chamber of Commerce President Tucker Murphy, The Fairfield County Foodie (fairfieldcountyfoodie.me), The Fairfieldista (fairfieldista.com) along with New Canaan residents and Milano's family, who are originally from Stamford, Connecticut.

The newly renovated standalone eatery includes 22 seats, vibrant artwork, a large central skylight, freshly painted periwinkle exterior and newly paved parking lot. “The renovation brings new life to Vitti Street and the New Canaan business community” said Murphy, “and The Dip melt (a creamed cheddar cheese melt with roasted artichoke hearts, figs and steamed spinach on butter grilled honey wheat toast) is fantastic” she added. Also, Alex a 9 year old food critic from the Sunday Diners blog (sundaydiners.com) attended with his mother Fairfieldista (Ann Quasarano) and gave Milano’s samples his highest rating, five stars.

Milano began 10 years ago as a short order cook for a swim club. And over a short decade he learned every aspect of the culinary industry eventually working as sous chef at the Royal Green Restaurant, Sterling Farms. Milano earned a degree from The International Culinary Center (founded as the French Culinary Institute) where he learned the business side of the industry with his sights firmly set on opening up his own food business in Fairfield County.

Press tastings will continue for the duration of the week, to request an invitation please contact Sarah I. Bamford (sarah@hybridmediaonline.com).
