Miss Black Collegiate USA to Host Its First “Exposing Minds, Not Bodies!” Conference for Girls!

ATLANTA - Oct. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- The “Exposing Minds, Not Bodies!”™ Empowerment Conference for Girls is scheduled for October 25-27, 2013 at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta, GA. This much needed empowerment conference that promotes healthy self-esteem and good health is produced and designed by Vanessa Edwards-El, The Event Strategist, in collaboration with Holly Rodriguez, of Life’s Dreams Wedding & Event Planning.  On Friday, the “Exposing Minds, Not Bodies!”™ Empowerment Conference for Girls will kick-off with a Launch Party & Young Professionals Networking Launch Party, where Ms. Aiken will also sign copies of her latest best-selling book, Network to Increase Your Net Worth.

Saturday, October 26^th is the Empowerment Conference will be hosted by Atlanta’s KISS FM, Twanda Black, which consists of a variety of power packed workshops, activities, and food. Some of the workshops include, the Preserving & Protecting My Image by Renee Joshua-Porter, Executive Director of The Burning Bush Family Foundation/Teaching Artist for Alvin Ailey Foundation, Inc. Ms. Michelle Allen, the State STD Director of Infectious Disease & Immunization Program for the Georgia Department of Public Health has made it possible for attendees to receive important health updates that will assist young ladies with the preservation of their minds and bodies. Additional activities include self-esteem workshops, pageant preparation, arts and crafts for the younger girls, You Got Served Up! dance contest from local students, exercise class, collage and vision board making.

Pre-teen pop artist Aleacea will perform her anti-bullying single “Mean Girlz” at the half time of You Got Served Up! There will be an expert panel with Publisher & best-selling author, Ni’cola Mitchell, Darlene Aiken, TaMisha Tene, Founder of Fabuulous Chikks and Christal Jordan, President of Enchanted PR.

The panel will be moderated by Ms. Jeannine K. Brown, President of the National Association of Black Accountants. On Sunday, October 27^th, the Conference will end with a gospel brunch where three professional women will be honored for their commitment to community service will be recognized. Ms. Jeannine K. Brown, President of the National Association of Black Accountants, Ms. Tenisha Bell, a CNN Executive Producer & President of the National Association of Black Journalists, and Ms. Sheila Bowers, President the Rho Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The award-winning, God’s Gurls will perform, prayer by Pastor T, and there will be a contest amongst local youth choirs. The Gospel Brunch will also be hosted by Twanda Black of Atlanta’s KISS FM.
