AdvancePro became a critical technology for us in the 3PL (logistics) business, essentially betting the future success of our company on it. A company that I founded and grew for over 15 years before selling it to become the AdvancePro Technologies chief executive.
It was important for us to find a cost effective solution that would help us manage the inventory we were administering on behalf of our customers, and to provide our clients with real time information about their inventory. Problems and Opportunities In 2011, I became very concerned about our dependency on AdvancePro. We found customer service to be almost non-existent and they were slow to release new versions. We were also seeing some bad press. I did what any prudent owner and risk manager would do and looked for cost effective alternatives. After an exhaustive search I realized there simply was not any other technology available to us that could do what we needed at a price we could afford. I was in a frightening situation. The idea came to me: “If you think this is such great software see if you can buy it and run a new company that would continue to enhance AdvancePro software the way I would like to - from a customer’s perspective. That is precisely what I did! In late 2011 along with a small group, we bought the software and started a new company.
