Ellen Harrington-Kane of Easter Seals, Inc. JOINS the GOVERNING BOARD of Seed of Hope Foundation

Seed of Hope Foundation continues to add expert governors to their board of directors.
 
WESTCHESTER, Ill. - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Ellen Harrington-Kane, Assistant Vice President for Affiliate Services, at Easter Seals, Inc. has joined the Board of Directors for Seed of Hope Foundation.  Easter Seals is one of the largest health care non-profit organizations providing services to people with disabilities and special needs through 74 local organizations in the United States and affiliated partners in Australia, Mexico and Canada.  Additionally, Ellen is a surveyor for CARF, the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, where she inspects rehabilitation hospitals and clinics internationally to determine their compliance with over 1,500 quality standards for business practice and clinical programs.

With a clinical background in occupational therapy and advanced degree in health services management, Ms. Harrington-Kane works with organizations to analyze business and program operations and provide consultation to help them remain sustainable in the current challenging economic environment and period of health care reform.

Ellen has served on the advisory board for the International Pediatric Rehabilitation Collaborative, the American Occupational Therapy Association Autism Work Force, IDEA Partnership as well as on the advisory board for her church as they developed a ministry to serve children with special needs and their families.

When asked why she wanted to join the governing board for Seed of Hope Foundation Ellen responded, “I am very passionate about your cause.  As a woman in leadership, I think it is very important to mentor and uplift other women.”

Ellen received her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy from East Carolina University and her Master of Science in Health Services Management from Florida Institute of Technology.
