Orlando, Fla. (October 8, 2013) – The Barry L. Miller Foundation for Arts and Education is pleased to announce that it has awarded a $10,000 grant to the Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival. This is the first grant that the foundation has awarded.
During the 22nd annual Orlando Fringe Festival hosted in May, attorney Barry L. Miller issued a challenge to the Orlando Fringe to raise $10,000 in donations, which the foundation would match. Orlando Fringe exceeded the donation target this past week and in honor of the promise, Barry Miller awarded a check to the organization.
“I am pleased that the Orlando Fringe Festival is the first recipient of a grant from the foundation,”
George Wallace, General Manager for the Orlando Fringe Festival, shared the same sentiments stating, "We are honored to receive this grant from Barry. The grant allowed us to create a first-ever Endowment for Orlando Fringe, an important step in our ongoing financial stability and presence as a leading arts organization in Central Florida.”
Wallace continues, "Barry has always been an important member of the Orlando Fringe family and we are proud of our partnership with him and The Barry L. Miller Foundation for Arts and Education.”
