FORT MILL, S.C. - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 AMG Heritage Awards will be the place to be this Nov 9th as music legend Chubby Checker takes to the stage as the host for this year’s star studded event! Other artists slated for performances are, Lynn Anderson (Rose Garden), Terri Gibbs (Somebody's Knockin), Dino Kartsonakis (Chariots of Fire), Dylan Arms (American Idol), The Dixie Melody Boys, Stella Parton, Naomi Sego, Betty Jean Robinson, David Meece, The Eddie Mabry Dancers and the Union County Youth Ballet. There will also be a dynamic performance by the Lee Park Choir led by Jason Lanier.

Several area schools will be involved as well in this year’s awards broadcast. Northwest School of the Arts (Charlotte) governed by principal Melody Sears and conducted by educator Mark Johnson are confirmed to be doing an arrangement of "The Twist" with Chubby Checker.

The AMG Heritage Awards are brought to you by the Artists Music Guild, a division of the International Academy of Music Arts and Sciences. The CEO and president of the Guild is Christian music legend David L Cook. David began his career at the age of five with his family The Cook Family Singers which could be seen regularly on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry or on tour with Johnny and June Cash.

David L Cook says, "I am thrilled to be involved with this year’s Heritage Awards and all of the wonderful talent that has been assembled. The Guild is made up of some of the most talented and legendary artists of our times. These people give of themselves every day and this is our way to bring them together for a night of fun and proper reflection. I love each and every member of the Guild. They are my family!"

This will be the third year for the Guild to hold its annual convention in the Fort Mill area. Previous years they have worked in partnership with the Heritage USA Convention Center and Hotel and both years have brought upwards of two thousand people in attendance. However, this year they have moved the event to The Barn at Regent Park. The facilities are on the same grounds but can hold more people and are equipped for larger productions such as this. The Broadcast Group ran by famed producer Dale Hill will be the permanent home for the AMG Heritage Awards. Many will remember that the Barn and studios were the former home of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker's famous PTL Show. Heritage USA was once the third most visited theme park in world.

Jimmy Davis the president of the Guild said, "I think it’s wonderful that we have such an opportunity to bring these artists together. This is a time to not only celebrate their successes, but a chance to get to know each other in a friendly way. We spend so much of our time away from our friends and families that it’s nice to take a breather and just come together to have some fun."

The Artists Music Guild will begin its convention on Nov 7th with showcases by various artists and then will share three days of seminars, workshops and mentoring with kids from the public school systems. School all the way from Roanoke, VA will be in attendance of this year’s convention. The Guild is committed to helping educate and offsetting the deficient budgets in the public schools by opening up their conventions and inviting these schools and teachers to participate in a few days of mentoring by professional artists. The kids are taught music theory, singing, dancing, and acting and in some cases for advanced students, recording studio training. The Guild does not charge for these mentoring services but schools are responsible for the costs associated with getting the kids to and from the facilities.

The Guild has garnered support from some of the largest corporations in the world. Some of this year's sponsors include, Carolina Premier Bank, Publix Supermarkets, Coca Cola of Rock Hill, Fort Mill Ford, Town and Country Ford, Foriegn Cars Italia, Hedricks Chevrolet Cadillac, Mercedes Benz of South Charlotte, Hathaways Chicken, El Vallarta Mexican Cantina, The Cajun Queen, Michael Angelos Italian Restaraunt and The Yamaha Corporation.

The 2013 AMG Heritage Awards will be aired on Sky Angel and WATC Atlanta. For ticket information please call the Artists Music Guild offices at 615-469-1595. Tickets are limited so the public is encouraged to get them ASAP.

Red Carpet arrivals will begin at 5:00 pm and cameras will start rolling at 7:00pm promptly. Dress code is black tie. The event is scheduled to end at 10:00 pm and we ask all those in attendance to please plan to remain for the entire filming as to not to interfere with taping.

The Barn at Regent Park is located at 8400 Regent Parkway, Fort Mill, SC.
