WINGFIELD, Australia - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- For farmers, growers and smallholders in the Adelaide Hills, the New Holland Boomer 30 is an ideal solution, as it’s compact and versatile, yet also extremely powerful, meaning that it’s perfectly suited to work in orchards and vineyards, particularly on steep and uneven ground. The Boomer 30 is also designed to work with a range of implements is very easy to drive and maintain.

Its 28hp, 4-cylinder diesel engine means that the Boomer 30 it ideal for use as a bin tractor. “It’s strong enough to tow a trailer with two apple bins on board, while at 1.4 tonnes operating weight it won’t get pushed downhill by a heavy load on wet ground,” said Dylan Caldwell of Lewis Construction Equipment. “The 4WD also ensures that you get plenty of traction, and the 1.5l cubic displacement sees the engine generate plenty of horsepower when you need it.”

The Boomer 30 comes with a choice of 12x12 synchronised shuttle shift (SSS) or 3 range hydrostatic transmission (HST), both of which make operating in the hills environment much easier. Dylan Caldwell said, “The HST gives you very smooth changes, and you shift between forward and reverse using the foot pedals, so you don’t need to use the clutch or gear levers. If you’re someone who’s not running their tractor every day, for instance using it to maintain a weekend property, then the HST is ideal because it’s so easy to use, and you can master it pretty easily.”  The SSS transmission provides a good solution if the tractor is being used for loader work, or if you need to move between forward and reverse gears often, as there’s no need to stop before shuttling or changing gears.

A variety of implements can all be used with the Boomer 30, such as a mower deck, backhoe, or an integrated front-end loader (it features a 650kg three-point lift capacity). “If you’re working on your own, the Boomer 30 is great because the the category 1, 3-point hitch means you can attach implements quickly and easily single-handed,” said Dylan Caldwell.

Ease of maintenance is a key feature of the Boomer 30; all of the routine maintenance points are easy to access, the engine oil can be checked without having to lift the hood or remove a loader attachment, while there are 300-hour engine and 400-hour transmission service intervals. All of this combines to ensure that maintenance and service time is kept to a minimum, especially important if you’re a smallholder, landscaper or just have a big garden to keep neat and tidy and the Boomer 30 is your only machine.

As with all New Holland tractors, the Boomer 30 is safe and comfortable to operate, featuring ROPS, ample leg room and a platform that is easy to climb on and off. It comes with cruise control, and all levers and switches are colour coded and positioned so that their use is intuitive. The dashboard is clearly set out and easy to read, and the tilting steering wheel and adjustable operator’s seat mean that a long day’s work doesn’t equal an uncomfortable one.
