ellaWEAR Jewelry; Raising Money for Ella

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Oct. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a progressive, degenerative, neurological, genetic disease that is considered terminal.  It strikes children, often robbing them of their life before their 2nd birthday. Kids that live beyond that face years of hardships as their muscles atrophy.  Prognosis varies with each case.

Ella Casten is one such child.  Born in the early summer of 2010, Ella was diagnosed with SMA in the late summer of 2011.  She has SMA Type 2 (the second most severe form), has never walked, and will need special care for the rest of her uncertain life.

Upon her diagnosis, her parents (Michael & Lindsay Casten), took their existing jewelry business, Mama Bracelets, and created a "Cure SMA" collection of bracelets and necklaces.  A generous portion of the proceeds from the sales of these items are donated to Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (FSMA) in support of research for treatments and a cure for the disease.

Recently, the Casten Family has crossed the bridge of needing to have an accessible house to accomodate Ella's needs.  Rather than spend over $200,000 to accomplish this with their present home, they have decided to purchase a new house that is more conducive to making the necessary accommodations at a greatly reduced cost.

The Castens have used Mama Bracelets as a way to raise funds for FSMA (over $3,000 in two years) and thought it would be a great idea to have a jewelry collection that would benefit their "Ella's House Fund" they have started.  From this idea the "ellaWEAR Jewelry" collection was born.

As the parent company, Mama Bracelets offers personal hosting parties as well as online parties that feature the "ellaWEAR Jewelry".  The parties are known as 'ellaWEAR Parties'.  They differ from the traditional "multi-level marketing" parties in that there are no consultants, quotas, or pressures to buy products or host a party.
