"I was struck at how many Memory Santas we were making for loved ones who had passed from Cancer." Stone continued "Last October MeMe (Brown) lost her fight to Ovarian Cancer during the Furniture Market and it really had such an impact on us." This October they are honoring Miss Brown's passing with a special Santa.
On October 19th at Zaar Design Center they will unveil their Breast Cancer Awareness Santa. Stone is hoping that debuting the "Fight the Good Fight" Santa along with her Fall collection will be a good way to increase awareness through traffic from the thousands of industry people that pour into High Point, North Carolina from around the world. "The Furniture Market will be a good platform to bring attention to this very worthy cause. Everyone knows somebody who has been effected by this disease."
Proceeds from the auction of the Santa will go to the MeMe Brown's "Fight like a Girl" scholarship fund at Starmount High School located in Boonville, North Carolina and will be awarded to a student in 2014. The auction for the Santa will end at midnight, November 27th and the winner will be announced at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning on the Sans Souci Sisters website as well as their Facebook page.
