LOS ANGELES - Oct. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Laurel Wiley a well known actress who has played along side mega stars such as Al Pacino and Tom Cruise.  She has also acted in over 15 films playing lead roles and has done comedy.  Her talents don’t stop there.  Laurel is also a gifted singer/songwriter who began in the mid 90’s in Hollywood.  She’s worked with Bill Murphy, Mindy Johnson  and later recorded with Nancy Wilson producing in Seattle in the 2000s.  Most of her musical endeavors were single tracks working with other well known musical artists such as Mathew Sweet, Beach Boy members, The Cars and with Susanna Hoff.

Laurel Wiley’s self-titled CD blesses audiences with her majestic singing and composing skills.  Her music shows an entertainment artist that has the ability to tap into different facets of this industry with such grace and perfection.  She is filled with talent and her music is just one prime indicator of her versatility and craftsmanship.

One particular song (not on her self-titled CD) is “I’ve Forgotten” whose theme is about how we forget the beautiful things in life as it becomes complex as we grow older.  Childhood innocence is bliss due to the lack of life experience and not having responsibilities.  This theme is put to music so beautifully with a sweet rhythm, soft vocals and a great delivery.  This song is soulful and captures the essence of who Laurel is.

“Laurel Wiley”, the CD, is filled with great pop songs that highlight her ability to stretch outside her own personal limitations to explore new sounds.  This is a sign of a true artist, sharpening her craft by tapping into her true self.

Laurel likes to utilize instruments that bring balance and texture to her music which includes cello, classical harp and a mix of others.  There are no limits in her creative processes.  This makes her music extraordinary and a pure delight to listen to.

Particular acknowledgments for collaborative efforts go to:

Bill Murphy who  co-wrote “There Goes my Heart” with Laurel
James Fuchs who co-wrote with Laurel a few songs one of which is “Life after Life”
Nancy Wilson and Julie Bergman along with Laurel co-wrote a new song together titled “I’m On a Plane”

Laurel acknowledges Nancy Wilson as a major contributor to the writing process, who along with Laurel has found it exhilarating and extremely satisfying. One special note -  Laurel is also a cancer survivor and to that there is much to be grateful for.
