This weekend, one game fits this category: the Minnesota Vikings are two-point home favorites against the Carolina Panthers after coming off a bye week.
The website looked at teams that have longer than the standard six days to recover from a game, then broke those numbers down by site of the game and which team was a favorite and which was tabbed as an underdog.
What it found was that when those rested teams played their next game as a home favorite, they had a spotless 7-0 record against the Las Vegas betting line.
The most recent instance came last weekend, when the San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams were playing their first game since a Thursday night contest the week before, and the Green Bay Packers were coming off a bye week.
In all three cases, the teams won: the 49ers (as 5.5-point favorites) routed the Houston Texans, 34-3; the Rams (as 11.5-point favorites) defeated the winless Jacksonville Jaguars, 34-20; and the Packers (as 9.5-point favorites) stopped the Detroit Lions by a 22-9 score.
Vegas Experts looked ahead at the remaining 2013 schedule and found as many as ten other games that could be included in this group, depending on the Las Vegas betting line.
