GULFPORT, Miss. - Oct. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- The Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show began in 2010 in Orange Beach, Alabama.  Its fast paced growth soon made Orange Beach obsolete and it was clear a new location needed to be found.  After many months of searching the decision was made to move the show to Gulfport, Mississippi.  Now in its second year at its new home port, the Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show is again feeling growing pains.

Over 160,000 square feet of land space, and over 200 slips have been sold, giving the 2014 Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show a footprint of just over 7 football fields. Boat Dealers, Yacht Brokers, and Manufacturers are coming from all over the South East to participate in the largest show on the Gulf.  Exhibitors are not the only ones making plans early this year.  Hotels and Casinos have reported reservations coming in from across the country for the 2014 boat show.

"Every space is at a premium right now." said show manager Rob Lynch. "We have exhibitors taking first options on larger spaces, and a waiting list to get into the show. We are struggling to find more space for exhibitors, and there is still six months to go. If the attendance matches exhibitor interest, we will have to look at going to a two weekend format to accommodate the crowds."

Some of the new twists to the 2014 show is the VIP Thursday on April 3, 2014.  For the first time ever, almost one mile of red carpet will be laid on every dock and every aisle to celebrate opening day.  VIP Day will also host a free wine and craft beer tasting, at locations throughout the show.

A new paddle and open boat fishing tournament will be hosted on Friday, April 4, 2014.  The tournament will target Flounder, Trout, and Redfish and offer grand a prize of $5000 for open Boats and $1500 for paddle craft. What will make this tournament a can't miss and a one of a kind event is the FREE registration.  The Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show is offering this tournament to fisherman across the Gulfcoast Free.  For the first time, fisherman can compete for large cash prizes for FREE.

The Gulfcoast Yacht and Boat Show Golf outing will also begin in 2014.  On Sunday, March 30, 2014 the inaugural tournament will be held at the beautiful Windance Country Club in Gulfport, Mississippi.  Hosted in part by our title sponsor Island view Casino, the tournament will feature food and drink holes, door prizes, and entertainment for all.  There will be 4 holes designated for hole in one prizes from Contender, Yamaha, Phoenix Trailers as well as Toyota.

Registration for the fishing tournament and golf outing will be available after December 1, 2013.  VIP Thursday tickets can be purchased for $25.00 online at www.gulfcoastyachtandboatshow.com after December 1, 2013.  All show information, general ticket sales, and registrations will be available at www.gulfcoastyachtandboatshow.com
