Mr. Crowetz was asked about the recent surge in personal data theft, including accessing people’s personal files, pictures and even watching them via webcam.  The many methods being used to access users’ computers, tablets or phones, were discussed.  Key methods discussed include “phishing” for users to do something, sending out malware via email, false websites, public access points and of course raw hacking.  The concept of “Social Engineering” was covered which involves trying to take advantage of the weakest point of any computer system, the user.
