PooPoose™Diaper Changing Pad Makes Retail and Wholesale Debut at ABC Kids Expo

CHICAGO - Oct. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Piccolino, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of the PooPoose™ Diaper Changing Pad to the retail and wholesale markets at the 2013 ABC Kids Expo New Products Showcase in Las Vegas, NV. The PooPoose™ is the first doctor-designed changing pad on the market. Inspired by a medical papoose board which safely immobilizes children during medical and dental procedures, the PooPoose™ makes changing diapers easier  and safer. Given the safety features of this changing pad, the PooPoose ™is perfect for safety-focused caregivers with restless children.

  According to the Center for Disease Control, infant falls account for more than half of all emergency room visits in children under one year of age, mostly from furniture such as changing tables. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) thus mandates a safety strap on all infant changing pads. What makes the PooPoose™ different is its highlight of this safety mandate, as oppose to meeting the minimum standard seen with other pads. The PooPoose’s swaddle-like straps gently secure infants and prevents them from rolling off the changing pad, thus reducing the risk of falls.

  The PooPoose™ has a soft foam core which mimics that of a medical papoose board, with a firm center foam that functions as support for the straps. A soft strap enters through the center of the changing pad which surrounds the child and secures with a hook and loop attachment. This allows a wide range of child sizes from newborn to toddler. This strap is machine washable and easily removed.

  The PooPoose™ changing pad was designed by Brian and Dana Fort, after struggling to diaper their own child. Dana has a background in public health and dental research and is a general dentist in Chicago, IL. Brian Fort is an emergency medicine physician who has seen many infant traumas due to falls, especially from changing pads. Both have experience using the medical papoose board, the inspiration for the PooPoose™ changing pad. Piccolino, Inc. has partnered with Adam Lava from A. Lava and Sons, the largest manufacturer of mattresses and mattress pads for Serta and Sterns & Foster, to manufacture the pads in Chicago, IL.
