BAY SHORE, N.Y. - Oct. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- MEDIA ADVISORY For Saturday, October 12

Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center, Inc. to Host Safe Driving Seminar for Seniors and Families

Who:
         Mary-Ann Malack-Ragona, Executive Director/CEO, Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center

Alan Goldman, Certified Senior Advisor

What:          Alan Goldman, CSA, a public speaker and advocate for the elderly, will lead a seminar on safe driving tips for senior citizens. The Safe Driving Seminar will allow older drivers to regain their confidence that they withheld while driving in their earlier years as well as defensive driving tips and suggestions on how to execute certain driving scenarios.

In 2000, there were 35 million elderly drivers on the road. By 2010, that number had increased by 5.3%, resulting in 40.3 million elderly drivers. New studies have shown that in the next twenty years, that number will quickly triple.

It is crucial to ensure that the elderly drive safely while on the road, in order to protect themselves and drivers around them. It’s also imperative for the government to allow them to keep their licenses at an older age because the act of driving gives them a sense of pride and independence.
