Ashley to Headline All-Female Boxing Card in WBC Title Defense

NEW YORK - Oct. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- BROOKLYN, NY  – Four-time World Champion Alicia “Slick” Ashley will return to the ring on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico at the Las Pulgas arena.  As a veteran of 29 fights, the Brooklynite will make the third defense of her WBC Super Bantamweight crown in a 10-round bout against Zenny Sotomayor.

“It’s with upmost pleasure that I return to Mexico to defend my WBC Super Bantamweight title,” stated Ashley. “The Mexican promoters are very supportive of female fighters and the spectators are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic.  My Mexican fans always welcome me with open arms and I look forward to putting on a great show.”

Currently the number one ranked female Super Bantamweight in the world; Ashley has made a career of defeating opponents in their home countries. Dually sponsored by Promociones Mayan and Pandora Promotions, Ashley (19-9-1) and Mexico’s Sotomayor (10-5-2) will match-up as the main event attraction in the all-female show.

Known as “Slick” for her elusive moves and agility in the ring, the St. Andrews, Jamaica native and former professional dancer will look to capture the 20^th victory of her legendary career.
