A foundation that got its start in 1982, Susan G. Komen for the Cure began as a promise that Nancy G. Brinker made to her sister, Susan G. Komen who was fighting breast cancer. As Nancy grew this foundation, they began to hold exciting events and have raised almost $2 billion toward finding a cure since the foundation was started.

Today, the Susan G. Komen Foundation makes great contributions to those battling breast cancer. With your donations, the Susan G. Komen Foundation works to provide more early detection and effective treatment to women, hope to those fighting the disease, research to find a cure, treatment and prevention and celebrates the 3 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

In 2013, the Susan G. Komen Foundation estimates that there will be approximately 296,280 new cases of breast cancer in women and approximately 2,650 new cases of breast cancer in men in the United States alone.
