Chicago’s Fashion Week Returns for 2013

Oct. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- The 9th annual Fashion Focus: Chicago’s Fashion Week (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-tours/5157-2013-chicago-fashion-shows.html) is October 15-20. The city’s fashion industry and cultural affairs department to showcase both local and international fashion designers, retailers, and models put on fashion Focus on. Many of the Fashion Week activities will take place in Millennium Park, though more than a few will be held in other various places around the city.

Fashion Week kicks off with Inspiration: Designer and Muse, on Tuesday, October 15. This event that pairs local celebrities in the creative industry with designers to create an all new look. Pairings include Maria Pinto and Jeanne Gang, Diego Rocha with Naomi Beckwith, and Azeeza Khan with Alpana Singh.

On October 16, two fashion shows will happen at Millenium Park: the Maison De LaCour Fashion Presentation at 12 noon, and the Fashion Focus: Taking it to the Streets show at 7:30 p.m. both will take place at the Chase Promenade North.

On October 17, Fashion Focus: Urban Shapeshifters, will take the same stage with an emphasis on menswear.

Friday, October 18, will feature the week’s final runway presentation, put on Stylechicago.com, in which 10 Chicago based designers will unveil their looks for the spring of 2014.

There will also be opportunities to shop on October 19 and 20 with The Northern Grade, a market focusing on products made in the U.S., and a designer market from StyleChicago.com, setting up shop in Millennium Park.

Finally for current and aspiring designers, and industry players, Industry Day will take place will take place at the Chicago Cultural Center (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/attractions/129-dir-chi...) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Saturday of Fashion Week, and will feature a variety of seminars and educational lectures.
