Symphony Nova, an advanced training program for post-graduate professional musicians, will open its second season by presenting String Fling! The concert will feature new and traditional favorites for string orchestra, with pieces by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Holst, and a recent work by Argentinean composer, Osvaldo Golijov. The event will also showcase two of Symphony Nova’s star violinists—Julia Hunter and Angel Valchinov—as they perform JS Bach’s beloved Double Violin Concerto. Concerts will be Friday, Nov. 8th, 8 p.m., Old South Church, Boston, and Sunday, Nov. 10th, 3 p.m., King Philip Regional High School, Wrentham. Tickets are $25 at the door and at www.symphonynova.org. ABOUT SYMPHONY NOVA Symphony Nova aims to turn today’s aspiring orchestral musicians into tomorrow’s successful artists.
