Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Annual Light The Night® Walks

MIAMI - Oct. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night ® Fort Lauderdale and Miami Walks, organized by the Southern Florida and Puerto Rico Chapter, which raise funds for blood cancer research and provide support to patients and their families, will take place Saturday November 9, 2013 from 5-8pm at Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale at One East Las Olas Blvd. and on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 5-8pm at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami, 301 North Biscayne Boulevard.

Light The Night® Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. During this leisurely one-mile walk, participants carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer - thousands of walkers - men, women and children - form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer. Thousands of walkers and hundreds of team and sponsors participate in each Walk in Broward and Miami.

Each year, in communities all across the U.S. and Canada, teams of families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations come together to raise funds and bring help and hope to people battling blood cancer. Millions of consumers also help by donating at retail outlets.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.
