Affordable Lotus Garden Apartments Unveils SoCal’s First CARMATRIX(C) Parking System

LOS ANGELES - Oct. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Affirmed Housing Group  recently debuted the innovative CARMATRIX parking system to members of the affordable housing community, local residents, and the USGBC at Lotus Garden Apartments located at 750 Yale Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The unique, semi-automated CARMATRIX parking system at Lotus Garden is the first in Southern California, second in California.

Those in attendance at the event were able to witness firsthand the CARMATRIX parking system in action prior to the Lotus Garden Apartments Grand Opening. The CARMATRIX parking structure by Harding Steel allows users to park their cars on platforms that move vertically and horizontally for a stacking effect. Event guests and speakers included:

Los Angeles District 1 Councilmember, Gilbert A. Cedillo, states, “It is a great honor to have CD1 be the home of the first CARMATRIX in the City of Los Angeles. This innovative and earth-friendly parking system is the wave of the future in car parks, and I am eager to showcase this in my district. This will be a great way to reduce our carbon footprint.”

James Silverwood, President of Affirmed Housing Group, states, “This automated parking system will allow our residents to utilize a state-of-the-art feature that will increase security and promote smart building. As an all-affordable and sustainable development, Lotus Garden will serve families earning between 30%-60% of Los Angeles County’s median income. With designs ranging from studios to three-bedroom homes, the project will provide quality housing to 60 families. Designed by Togawa Smith Martin Residential, Inc., the project is intended to achieve LEED certification.
