Follow on Google News | Dr. David Matuskey Psychiatrist Joins Wellspring in Angelus House Adult ProgramBethlehem, Conn. The Wellspring Foundation, a comprehensive psychotherapeutic and educational center dedicated to healing through relational approaches, is pleased to announce that David Matuskey, MD, has joined Wellspring as a Consulting Psychiatrist at the Adult Residential Program, Angelus House. CEO, Dan Murray, Psy.D. said, “Since Dr. Matuskey joined Wellspring, he has quickly become an integral part of the multi-discipline Adult treatment team.” Dr. Matuskey is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with extensive neuroscience research experience and clinical training. His research interests include: impulse control, drug addiction, neuroimaging, PET and fMRI, and how factors such as age and social status may influence the molecular basis of addictions. He earned his BA in Psychology and BS in Biology from the University of South Florida. Dr. Matuskey earned his MD from Saint Matthew’s University School of Medicine and has taken advanced healthcare administration coursework from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. He started his psychiatry residency at the University of Connecticut before transferring and completing his residency at Yale. There he also completed a research fellowship in Clinical Neuroscience. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at Yale where he continues to research drug addiction and neuroimaging. He has worked as a psychiatrist with Connecticut Valley Hospital, Harvest Healthcare, St. Francis Hospital, and The Institute of Living. Dr. Matuskey is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, The International Society of Addiction Medicine, and The International Drug and Alcohol Research Association. He enjoys travel – having visited 80 countries – and the great outdoors; he can often be found biking and kayaking.
