ROYAL LEAMINGTON SPA, U.K. - Oct. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- It’s never been easier to buy an air source heat pump (ASHP) thanks to Plumb and Parts Center’s new Heat Pump Packs – an industry first.

The packs provide everything needed for ASHP retro-fit installations from the leading brands installers know and trust such as Glow-worm, Danfoss, Kingspan, Grant and Fernox.

Each pack comes with a heat pump and choice of cylinder together with a filter, set of controls, pump and heat transfer fluid.  Some of the packs also include anti-vibration feet.

Packs are available over the counter or can be ordered online for a next day delivery. There are 32 packs with prices starting from under £2999.

Homeowners who have a heat pump installed will be able to take advantage of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) due to launch in Spring 2014.

Until the launch of the domestic RHI, the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) is available with a payment of £1300 on an air source heat pump installation.

RHPP payments are, in effect, an advance of some of the RHI money, and will be subtracted from the total amount of RHI money due.

Households now need to obtain a Green Deal assessment in order to qualify for RHPP payments and the RHI. This assessment will help determine how renewable heat could fit with energy efficiency improvements for a particular home and help ensure the appropriate measures are taken.

Once RHI comes in to effect a tariff of 7.3p is payable per kWh of renewable heat (only) for an air source heat pump and 18.8p per kWh of renewable heat (only) for a ground source heat pump.  This tariff will be paid for seven years.

In order for a household to qualify for the RHPP and RHI the heat pump installer must be MCS certified or equivalent.
