Toyota of Scranton Invites Customers to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

SCRANTON, Pa. - Oct. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- At Toyota of Scranton, we are proud to give back to the community we live and work in. On October 19^th, we are inviting our customers to join us as we participate in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Among the many car dealers near Wilkes Barre, we are proud to stand out as a supporter of this important event.

On Saturday October 19^th, our team, Toyota Ta-Ta’s will join the hundreds of teams and participants at 9:30am in Kirby Park to fight back against a disease that affects millions. So far, there are 30 teams participating and together we have raised over $17,000! Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a national even that helps to raise awareness for breast cancer and funding for breast cancer research.

With your support, the funding we raise toward breast cancer research will help to find a cure for this disease. The money we raise will go toward helping people to stay well, get well, find cures and fight for women both affected and threatened by breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society uses funding from the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event to offer a variety of programs to women affected by the disease. These programs include transportation assistance to and from treatment, free lodging for those having to travel far for treatment, workshops that teach beauty techniques to boost confidence, emotional support programs and to provide advocacy to women in need.
