Rising Star Plays Lead in Christian Film

Just three months ago, few Hollywood insiders knew the name, Yan Tkach. But this changed after Tkach landed a role in Daniel Medina’s Jr. feature length debut The Thief in the Night. Tkach plays Kol a character based on Jesus Christ who with his fearless and caring demeanor rescues Grace the love of his life.

The film caps off a series of success for the young actor. Earlier in 2013, Zane a short film where Tkach played the lead won “Best Film in the Inland Empire” at the Riverside International Film Festival.

Tkach a Russian born actor went on a journey back to his roots this summer—he was accepted to the prestigious A.R.T MXAT Harvard Institute Summer School Program. Where he studied with acclaimed Russian director Adolf Shapiro and played the role of Medvedenko in the Seagull.

“This was an important story to tell and something that I think the audience will enjoy-- the twist it puts on a classic is fun to watch and the film is unlike anything playing right now” Tkach explained. “Playing a character based on Jesus Christ came with a lot of pressure and I am very lucky to have had the support of the entire cast and crew.”

The Thief in the Night will have its world premiere on October 24 at the Krikorian Movie Theater in Redlands, CA. Start time is 7:10PM. Tickets are available for FREE at the kiosk from 6-7PM.
