Evan Guthrie Law Firm Speaks About Lawyers At College Of Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Oct. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke to students at College of Charleston about the process from going from a college student to becoming a lawyer on campus at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC on Wednesday April 17^th 2013. The theme of event was for former attorneys that are alums of the College to come back and give current students that may be interested in a law career advice on how to attain that goal. Attorney Evan Guthrie was joined at the event by fellow lawyer, Dan Boles of the Boles Law Firm in Charleston, SC. Mr. Guthrie spoke to students about his journey from a college student, what college classes he took to prepare himself, what are some of the school and community activities that helped get ready for a law career, how to prepare for the Law School Admissions Test and what weight law schools give it in admissions, how to make the transition from college to law school and the differences and similarities between the two, what a typical law school class is like and the preparation for a class is like, what law school exams are like, how grades are distributed in law school, how to prepare for a state bar exam, what kinds of topics are covered on a bar exam, the passage rates for a bar exam, how lawyers are sworn in after passing a bar exam, and what life is like as a practicing lawyer.

Attorney Evan Guthrie enjoyed being able to return to College of Charleston  and give advice to current students that may want to follow the path that he took. This was the second school year that Mr. Guthrie has participated in this type of event at the school. Attorney Guthrie’s interns at his law firm, Emma Del Rey and Mallory Corrigan, also students at the College helped organize the event with the help of the school’s Pre-Law department. Mr. Guthrie looks forward to being able to help with future events at the school and give back to it in many different ways.
