Orlando WonderWorks - Wacky and fun!

MAITLAND, Fla. - Oct. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Children are well known for being creatures of whimsy and active imaginations. Letting their imagination run free is not only play for them, it’s how they learn and grow. While in Orlando, take your kids on one of the wildest flights of fantasy they – or you – will ever experience. The WonderWorks museum is a stately mansion which, according to legend, was once uprooted by a powerful tropical storm and tossed neatly into its present location … upside down. Whether you believe the story or not, this is a great place for the whole family to experiment with the laws of physics, learn about sound and light, and explore some ideas related to space, as well as just to have fun. Conveniently situated with ample paid parking on site, the museum is open 365 days a year.

A Different Perspective

From the minute you approach the building, you’ll see that this is an experience that’s going to be … well, different. Entry is via the Inversion Tunnel that realigns your orientation in space to let you defy gravity and enjoy the environment from a topsy turvy perspective. Ride the Wonder Coaster for even more upside down adventure, as it flips you 360 degrees here, there and everywhere. The Far Out Illusion Gallery will challenge the very way you see your world. Or play games with Sound and Light; 3D sound will totally immerse you in the Sound Zone and you will harness the power of light to preserve the shadow you just cast as your body moves on. In the PSace Zone, kids can try on a life size astronaut suit and investigate a mercury capsule.

Just for Fun

Kids of every age will have a great time playing with the largest version of Lite Brites known to humankind as they use the glowing stick to create patterns taller than they are. Or they can blow gigantic bubbles large enough to surround themselves in the Bubble Lab. Older children may especially like Mind Ball, where, hooked up to electrodes, they compete to move a ball across the table, using the power of the mind. In a quirky twist on traditional competition, the most relaxed player wins! A total contrast, Lazer-Tag challenges participants to outrun, outshoot and generally outdo their opponents. Climb and swing on the 36 foot high Ropes Challenge Course at your own pace.

Sitting (Almost) Still

After all that action, even the most active youngster may be ready to sit for a while. The 4D simulated motion theater makes audience members a virtual part of the on screen special effects adventure. You may want to stick around for the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show, a feast of high energy, hilarious and amazing interactive entertainment accompanied by unlimited pizza, salad, beverages, popcorn and dessert. No wonder it’s won awards from the Orlando Sentinel and Trip Advisor as a fantastic family experience.

Orlando has so much to see and do that you’ll appreciate staying in a comfortable hotel with easy access to everything. The nicer and lower priced Orlando hotels tend to fill up fast, though, so it’s a good idea to reserve in advance (http://crshotels.com/).
