Annual Middle East Philanthropy Awards 2013

LONDON - Oct. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Campden Wealth and ADIB launch second annual Middle East Philanthropy Awards which recognises and honours individuals and foundations that have made outstanding philanthropic contributions in the Middle East and the Arab region of North Africa.

The awards, which are overseen by an expert panel of judges, will recognise and honour individuals and foundations that have made outstanding philanthropic contributions in the Middle East and the Arab region of North Africa.

Nominations, which will remain open until November 10, can be made through Campden Wealth’s news website, [www.campdenfb.com] CampdenFB, and will be used to form a shortlist from which winners will be chosen.

Winners will be announced and presented with their award at a glittering ceremony and gala dinner to be held Park Hyatt Hotel, Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi on December 10.

Chief Executive Officer of ADIB, Tirad Al Mahmoud, said: “Individual and institutional philanthropy have become much more encouraged and acknowledged in the Middle East in recent years. Through last year’s successful awards, we have witnessed first-hand remarkable people and organisations who have offered a level of unwavering support and commitment to making a difference – socially and culturally – in this region and beyond.

He added: “We are honoured to be the backbone for these awards as it provides an ideal platform to recognise and reword the efforts of those who have created real change in our society. Philanthropy and community engagement are at the heart of our values at ADIB and they are an integral part of our promise to bring ‘banking as it should be’ to the UAE community.”

Nominations are now being taken for the four categories, which include:

•         Philanthropist of the Year

•         Foundation of the Year

•         Young Philanthropist of the Year

•         Lifetime Achievement Award

Last year marked the debut of this prestigious event, which was attended by many of the region’s top philanthropists and foundations.

2012 winners included Arif Masood Naqvi (Philanthropist of the Year), Arab Human Rights Fund (Regional Foundation of the Year), Palestine’s Welfare Association (Local Foundation of the Year), Mishal Kanoo (Young Philanthropist of the Year) and Sheikha Bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan (Lifetime Achievement Award).
