CLEARWATER, Fla. - Oct. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Lincare, longstanding leader in respiratory care for patients in their homes, recognizes that patients residing in the many Medicare Competitive Bid markets may find themselves without a provider of CPAP supplies, services and equipment as of July 2013. The website is designed to help CPAP users find the supplies they require for their sleep therapy needs. The company provides Medicare-covered CPAP supplies delivered directly to the patient’s door affording consumers the brands from CPAP manufacturers that they have come to trust.

Lincare is sensitive to the fact that many providers previously able to provide CPAP services in the affected Competitive Bid Areas may now need a resource to which they can refer their patients for a smooth transition of care.  Lincare stands committed to help every patient possible during this challenging transition period in healthcare. Lincare is hopeful that companies that were not awarded the bid or those that have opted out of participation will feel confident referring patients to the new website so that the care of these patients can go on uninterrupted.

Lincare was awarded the bid as a contracted Medicare Provider for CPAP equipment, supplies and services in all but four locations.  Contracts were awarded in 91 markets during the second round of competitive bidding.  Included in these markets are many major metropolitan areas. You can check to see if a market is affected by competitive bid at www.medicare.gov. The excluded areas not covered by Lincare at this time include Baton Rouge, LA; Honolulu, HI; Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, NY; and Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, PA.
