New England Biolabs® Sponsors Upcoming Masquerade Benefit for ArtCorps®

To celebrate and support ArtCorps' Creative Leadership for Social Change programs, New England Biolabs, Inc. (NEB®) is sponsoring Raising Spirits: A Masquerade Benefit for ArtCorps®, which will take place on October 24, 2013 in Ipswich, MA.
 
IPSWICH, Mass. - Oct. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- ArtCorps and NEB believe that creativity is key to solving the most pressing challenges of our time. Raising Spirits: A Masquerade Benefit for ArtCorps, is a celebration of creative approaches to social and environmental change that will raise funds for ArtCorps' education and training programs.

This gala fundraiser will take place on Thursday October 24, 2013 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at The Hellenic Center in Ipswich, MA. The program for the evening includes the presentation of the third annual Creative Activist Awards, live Latin music and dancing, a silent auction and mask-making. All proceeds will provide creative leadership training for environmental advocates, community educators and health promoters.

"ArtCorps cultivates the kind of creative thinking and problem solving that drive innovation and improve lives among the poorest sectors of our society. NEB is proud to support such a visionary nonprofit," states Jim Ellard, Chief Executive Officer of NEB.

The recipients of the 2013 Creative Activist Awards presented at the event will be Anthony Trecek-King, Artistic Director for the Boston Children's Chorus, and Karla Lara, Honduran Singer and Human Rights Activist. These individuals are being honored for using music to creatively advance social change in Boston and Central America.
