By: Tir Na Nog Tir na nOg Irish Pub 218 South Blount Street Raleigh 27601 Matthew was born on May 29th 2013, and diagnosed with a rare type of Urea Cycle Disorder called OTC Deficiency. In Matthew’s case, this manifested in an extreme way that is difficult to treat through diet and medication alone. The first thirty four days of Matthew’s life were spent at the local children’s hospital and included several weeks in the intensive care unit, four rounds of dialysis, countless blood transfusions, and over a dozen individual medications. Due to two rapid onset, very extreme hyperammonemic episodes, Matthew has been recommended for liver transplantation by his doctors, and is currently awaiting for a matching liver to come available. Doors at 7 p.m. on the night of the performance. A suggested $5 donation will be accepted at the door, with raffle tickets for various prizes available inside.
