German Medical Device Patent Validated for babyLance Safety Heelstick

BERLIN - Oct. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- MediPurpose(tm), a master distributor and manufacturer of medical products, today announced an addition to its expanding portfolio of lancet patents.

The medical product company was recently granted patent 6009016940.8 for its babyLance(tm) safety heelstick from the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) in Berlin, Germany.

The German patent grant validates babyLance's recent European Patent Office (EPO) patent application approval. Although an EPO patent provides intellectual property protection in the EPO's 38 member states, country-specific validation extends the patent's protective effect and enforceability.

The babyLance EPO patent 2303123 is awaiting validation in other EPO member states.
