BOSTON - Oct. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Mark Lund executive producer, director and writer, is pleased to announce law school premieres of the widely anticipated psychological thriller Justice Is Mind. Independently produced and inspired by a 2009 60 Minutes segment that addressed mind-reading technology, Justice Is Mind is set in a near future where a new type of MRI process called FVMRI (functional video magnetic resonance imaging) can read your memory in video form.

Justice Is Mind will commence its law school screenings at Boston University School of Law on October 8, 2013 and the University of Mississippi School of Law on October 14, 2013.  “Having Justice Is Mind start its law school tour with such prestigious law school and legal scholars is a great beginning to a film that revolves around new science and law,” said Lund.

Justice Is Mind follows businessman and restaurant owner Henri Miller who has been afflicted with unexplained headaches since childhood. When he has the new FVMRI procedure and it reveals that he has allegedly shot and killed two people, the trial of the century begins in which Miller is faced with his own memory at trial. But all is not as it seems as a dark family secret, held by Henri’s minister father Joseph, reveals itself in the courtroom. The law school tour was conceived by Lund’s entertainment attorney Arnold Peter of the Peter Law Group [http://peterlawgroup.com/], who was also a legal consultant and one of the producers of the film. Attorney by day and producer by night, Peter was intrigued by the opportunity to work on a cutting edge film that combines his two interests - entertainment and the law.  “It is extremely rare that a feature film presents a complex legal issue in such an accurate and entertaining manner.  This presents an ideal opportunity for scholars to weigh in on yet unresolved questions of law and policy,” stated Peter.

The film is most timely with growing global concerns about privacy and recent Supreme Court decisions, which could have wide-reaching implications in the rapidly evolving technology surrounding criminal procedure.

Professor Jay Wexler at Boston University School of Law explained, “Through a compelling and engaging storyline, this film focuses attention on one of the most important issues facing legal scholars and public policy analysts today—the importance of privacy as we venture into novel medical technology and its impact on criminal law and procedure.”

Dean Richard Gershon at University of Mississippi School of Law added, “Through the involvement of medical and legal ethicists, the filmmaker has shed a light on a developing and unchartered area of the law.  We are thrilled to be part of the national law school tour for Justice is Mind and look forward to engaging our faculty and students in a robust discussion of these cutting-edge issues.”

The film will be announcing additional law school screenings as dates come online. For additional screenings, please visit Justice Is Mind’s official website http://www.justiceismind.com.
