Dr. DeMaria to Chair Professional Standards Committee

LAS VEGAS - Oct. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- During the annual Board of Directors meeting of the Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM) in Chicago on September 28, 2013, Board Chairman, Randy Morton, CSHM, announced that he had selected Joseph DeMaria, Ph.D., CSHM, MIIRSM, to chair the organization's Professional Standards Committee.

Dr. DeMaria will be assisted by committee members Aursine Karatis, Terry McKinch and David Wynn.  Under Dr. DeMaria's leadership, the committee will be responsible for setting educational and professional safety experience standards for the organization's Certified Safety and Health Management (CSHM) certification candidates, establishing and overseeing policies and procedures related to evaluation of candidate qualifications, maintaining a Code of Professional Conduct for certificate holders and promoting ethical practices

Dr. DeMaria thanked board chairman Randy Morton for trusting in his abilities to serve as chairperson and in providing leadership of this esteemed committee.
