Guardian Advice appoints Andrew Hammelmann State Manager for Queensland

SYDNEY - Oct. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Life risk specialist dealer group Guardian Advice has appointed Andrew Hammelmann as State Manager for Queensland.

Guardian has experienced significant growth in Qld over the past 12 months, which has enabled the group to grow its team and better service the advisers in Guardian’s Qld network.

Based in Brisbane, Mr Hammelmann joins Guardian after an established career in financial services most recently within MLC and NAB. He has more than 17 years of experience working with financial advisers, and broad balanced expertise in practice management, compliance and operations.

In his new role, he is responsible for implementing Guardian’s strategic plan in Qld, with a focus on attracting new advice practices, coaching and supervising authorised representatives, and delivering on Guardian’s value proposition.

Commenting on the appointment, Guardian Advice head Simon Harris said: “Andrew is a seasoned executive who brings a unique skill set to our business, encompassing practice development, relationship management and compliance. It’s very rare to find someone with such diverse experience in the financial planning licensee space. I’m confident that he will add depth of experience and professionalism to Guardian’s management team.”

Mr Hammelmann replaces Hugh McLennan who remains with Guardian as Qld Practice Development
Manager.

About Andrew Hammelmann

Before joining Guardian, Mr Hammelmann spent four years at MLC as a Practice Development Manager, and two years at NAB Financial Planning as a Practice Development Manager, providing business coaching to self-employed advice businesses and developing growth strategies to transition small financial planning businesses from start-ups to profitable growth businesses. He was also Qld State Manager for Compliance at MLC, responsible for enhancing advisers’ business practices and quality of advice. Before entering the corporate world, he was a Senior Compliance & Surveillance Officer with ASIC’s Financial Services Industry Unit.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma of Financial Planning.
