By: LaFemme.org LA Femme will screen, at the four (4) day festival, over 100 independent features, short films, documentaries, commercials, music videos and special screenings. We are excited to announce some of the amazing films participating in the festival: ‘Awakened’ “We strive to support the creative efforts of women artists making films”. Stated Leslie LaPage, the festival’s founder . La Femme has surpassed its grass root beginnings in the United States by celebrating women’s contributions to media with films from all over the world. The Hollywood distribution community has sought out our films and Origin Releasing has stepped up to plate offering a fist look at the films screened at the LA Femme. The four day event in Los Angeles hosts special networking events at LA hot spots, seminars, special screenings, Opening Gala “Hollywood Carnaval” co-hosted by the Hair and Makeup Artisits Network, and Gala Awards Ceremony. LA Femme is dedicated to empowering women artists creating entertainment. Previous Celebrity Award Honorees included : Patty Jenkins (Monster), Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2), Angela Bassett (Green Hornet), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Marianne Jean-Baptise (Without a Trace), Sara Gilbert (Roseanne), Diablo Cody (Juno), Vivica Fox (Kill Bill), Rosanna Arquette (After Hours), Lea Thompson (Caroline in the City), Katherine Fugate (Army Wives), Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs) and many more.
