Colupon Acquires New Paltz Based UG Cash Club

Oct. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- [October 1, 2013] Colupon announced on Monday the acquisition of UG Cash Club, a company that provides savings cards to students at the State University of New York at New Paltz and Marist College.

UG Cash Club’s founders and SUNY New Paltz alumni, Joe Krug and Ethan Kramer, started the company to help students at SUNY New Paltz save money.  “UG Cash Club was created to bring discounts and information to students. When we were introduced to David Reunert at Colupon, we didn't see competition or threat. We saw an opportunity to work together as a team and create something great,” says Joe Krug.  With the acquisition, students will still have access to the same deals offered on the savings card but the deals will now be featured on the Colupon app and website. “My business partner, Ethan Kramer, and I are excited to join forces with Colupon and reach our original goal: save students money," explains Krug.

When the app and website launch in October, coupons to businesses in the New Paltz and Poughkeepsie area will be available to students. Colupon will also have exclusive online deals for national brands, allowing students across the country to save money. When asked for his comments, David Reunert, Colupon’s founder and CEO, explains, “UG Cash Club was a business we knew very early on would be a business we either had to beat, partner with or acquire. I am glad it has worked out the way it has, and look forward to years of continued success as Ethan and Joe join our team.”
