Bud Michael, eSoft’s CEO stated, “Our new pricing, product bundle options and significant enhancements to eSoft’s InstaGate appliances are in direct response to the ever-increasing demands placed upon eSoft's Unified Threat Management (UTM) Systems supporting the SMB market today.”
In addition to the individual appliance and ThreatPak pricing discounts, eSoft now offers 1 and 3 year bundle pricing on hardware and virtual appliances combined with complete network security and support options to further increase savings. Bundles include the Network Security appliance, Gold Care Support, Web and Email ThreatPak and Internet Failover.
Added Michael, “These pricing changes along with recently announced new hardware platfoms and core OS enhancements reflect eSoft's continued commitment to offer our customers the very best in award-winning network security solutions at the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) and the highest return on investment (ROI).”
Key features of the eSoft hardware/software enhancements include:
Hardware upgrades including faster CPUs, gigabit Ethernet ports, and additional network ports on the InstaGate 604
Update to eSoft's core Operating Systems (OS) and networking resulting in greater speed, efficiency, and flexibility
Upgrade to eSoft's IPsec VPN software to further strengthen security and stability
Enhanced VLAN Capabilities Introduced.
eSoft also announced the addition of Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) support to the InstaGate family of network security appliances. VLANs are created to provide segmentation and assist in issues like security, network management and scalability. One of the most beneficial elements of a VLAN is that it removes latency in the network, which saves network resources and increases network efficiency. In adding support for VLANs, eSoft enables its SMB customers to gain increased network utilization and scale while maintaining enterprise-class protection against advanced cyber attacks.
The new eSoft Version 6.0 includes:
· Updated Networking Functionality
· Support for multiple LANs
· Added VLAN interfaces with VLAN routing
· Upgraded IPSec VPN with improved security capabilities
Increased network performance by decreasing the latency and traffic load on the network and the network devices.
Lee Graves, eSoft’s VP Technical Services & Product Management explained, “These features allow for better segmentation of networks and increased security. They provide our customers with the ability to create guest networks, VOIP phone networks and other segmented networks quickly and easily. Between the core operating system updates, upgrades to IPSec VPN and addition of VLANs, eSoft continues to improve security and reliability for maximum network security.”
